Published: by Clipclic Filed under: News Movies - 954 Views

Director Steven Spielberg's epic adventure, “War Horse” is a tale of hope and perseverance set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War. The film follows the extraordinary journey of a horse named Joey as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets, before ending up in No Man's Land. Based upon a successful book, and turned into a successful international theatrical hit that is currently on Broadway, “War Horse” comes to the screen in an epic adaptation by one of the great directors in film history, Steven Spielberg.

In the above interview, Mr. Spielberg discusses various aspects of the film, including the big concern for animal activists that no horses were harmed during the production of the film. But more importantly, Mr. Spielberg talks about the acting of Joey, the War Horse, and how the horse in effect exercised a creative spirit in his performance while filming.

Mr. Spielberg also discusses other interesting topics during the interview such as: the choice of an unknown actor who plays Joey's friend, Albert; the Film score; the choice of wide camera lenses for the entire film; his personal feelings about war in general; the sentimentality of the film; comparisons to other films involving horses; the use of computer graphics (CG); and much more.
