As the year suggests, this is the wedding of King George VI and Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, Queen Elizabeth II's future parents, as incarnated by Colin Firth and Helena Bonham Carter in 'The King's Speech'. But this is all with the benefit of hindsight: as far as the Topical Film Company was concerned, they were filming the wedding of the Duke of York, second son of King George V - though they still treated it as a major media event, with nineteen cameramen filming the proceedings from numerous angles.
